Lago delle Tose, a small lake known since Roman times for its thermal characteristics and the benefits of its waters. The locality is known by the name Lagole. It is beautiful: the gentle slope of the rocks allows you to cross even the small waterfalls with agility, but the real surprise is when you come to see the small Tose lake, a natural pool formed in a rocky basin. This whole area was part of a religious complex linked to the cult of mineral waters, known for at least 2,500 years for their therapeutic properties. Already in Roman times, people came to Lagole to bathe in these waters and perform abduction of the body. In some places, in addition to the ferruginous colour, it is also possible to smell the typical sulphurous odour.
You can drive down to the Centro Cadore lake. Before arriving at the lake there is a small car park, from where you continue down a few metres towards the lake. At the very end of Lago di Centro Cadore, you will find a path leading towards the forest and slightly uphill, marked by some wooden stairs and railings right at the start of the route. You walk for a few hundred metres through the vegetation, a very simple and pretty path. After about 10 m, an area opens up where the pines are sparser and a lot of water flows over the rocks to form the famous Lagole waterfalls.
