A demanding hike that will take you from the Centro Cadore lake dam to Sottocastello, a hamlet of Pieve di Cadore, and then back to the dam. You will also pass through the beautiful and picturesque hamlet of Sacco.
Descend to the Sottocastello dam, cross it and climb another 100 m where there is a convenient car park. Follow the signs for the Traversata del Cadore and reach the village of Caralte. Descend in the direction of Perarolo. After the small roundabout, at the end of the village, turn right for the characteristic hamlet of Sacco. Climb up to the Cavallera hairpin bend where, on the right, take the path leading up to the old state road. Continue under the bridge and take the cycle track in the direction of Sottocastello from where you descend to the dam.
