From here you can enjoy a wide view of Cridola, Spalti di Toro, Monfalconi, Duranno, Cima dei Preti and the southern ridge of the Marmarole Centrali. If you are looking for a romantic, relaxing environment, with meadows, flowers, hospitality and good food, go to the Antelao Refuge because it is a little paradise. It is a support point along the Alte Vie delle Dolomiti n. 4 and 5. The dirt access roads offer pleasant mountain bike routes. In winter, it is open at weekends.
From the village of Bale, follow the signs for the Costapiana hut and drive up the partially asphalted road (last km is unpaved). Leave the car at Rifugio Costapiana and continue for about 1.5 hours along the path to the small church of San Dionisio, at an altitude of 1926 m, where you can enjoy a 360° view. From the little church, descend to the Antelao refuge along path no. 251 for about half an hour.
VARIANTS: from Pieve di Cadore, go up to Pozzale by car. From there, the path to the Antelao Refuge begins, below Monte Tranego. 2.45-3.00 hours.
