During the ascent to the Hermitage, you will have the opportunity to see the fifteen stations of the Stations of the Cross, until you reach the small chapel frescoed with the figures of St Francis and the founder Giovanni Maria Pinazza. The Hermitage stands a little above, in a place that has maintained the charm of the past. It offers four rooms with private bathrooms and a large dormitory with excellent finishes. A larin and some beautiful wooden sculptures carved by Livio De Bernardo give further charm to the environment. Stage of the Cammino delle Dolomiti.
By car, follow the signs for Rifugio Padova, Cercenà and Eremo dei Romiti. Descend towards the Centro Cadore Lake, cross the bridge and at the junction for the Cercenà and Padova Refuges head left to the large car park. Walk up a ramp and, after crossing the small bridge, you can choose whether to take path no. 347 with the beautiful Via Crucis or to continue along the forest road. Path no. 347 will take you to the plateau with the beautiful capital dedicated to St John the Baptist. Continuing on, you will reach the hermitage in 5 minutes.
