Forcella Piccola, Calalzo di Cadore
+39 340 1214300
It is located on the eastern slope of the Forcella Piccola, between the crags of Mount Antelao and the high walls of the Scotter and the Bastioni, in view of the Marmarole that form the backdrop to the Val D’Oten. Managed directly by the Mestre Section of the CAI (Italian Alpine Club), through its willing members, and equipped with a room for didactic use with equipment that makes conferences and nature courses possible (projector, overhead projector, etc.), it is the preferred base for climbing Antelao. It is a stopover point for walkers on the High Dolomite Routes no. 4 and 5.
From San Vito di Cadore, drive to the car park next to the Parco Neve Sole (Sun Snow Park) of the San Vito Ski Area. From there, it takes a few minutes to reach the Sun Bar hut where the path starts. Follow the forest road to the Scotter Refuge, then continue towards the San Marco Refuge following path no. 229. From the San Marco Refuge, continue along path no. 227 until you reach the Pietro Galassi Refuge.
