The pretty old building is almost entirely made of wood. Of particular interest is the panoramic balcony near the refuge, on Monte Vedorcia, where the view sweeps over the Centro Cadore and the surrounding peaks. A base for hikers and walkers along the Alta Via delle Dolomiti n. 6, it is an excellent place for refreshment and rest for those who wish to savour once again forgotten sensations of peace and serenity.
Drive down to the dam, cross the lake and drive along the left orographic side in the direction of Domegge. Having arrived at Chalet Miralago, the road begins to climb in hairpin bends and is asphalted until the locality of La Faghera, altitude 1157 m, where you can park. The road continues, with steep bends and an often ruined surface, as far as the Tamarì cheese factory. From here the cart-track narrows, becomes CAI path no. 343 and soon leads to the hut. Time required on foot from the Faghera locality: about 3 hours.
