The proposed itinerary departs from the centre of Borca di Cadore, a locality in a strategic position on the Boite valley, at the point where the territory opens out into a wide basin surrounded by the high walls of Mount Pelmo (3168 m) and Mount Antelao (3263 m), and in the background the mountain chain surrounding Cortina d’Ampezzo. At the junction near the Agip petrol station, we ascend to take the cycle track, in the direction of Vodo, which we leave after less than 1 km to cross the main road at the ‘Cianzia’ restaurant. Looking up, one is enchanted by the beauty and majesty of Mount Pelmo.

Follow the small municipal road that runs parallel to the state road and leads shortly to the sports fields area of Borca; at this point the hamlet makes a fine show with a slightly sloping section. From here you descend, following the signs for Villanova, towards the Church of Saints Simon and Thaddeus, which houses the precious Callìdo organ (18th century).

To the left, the road is briefly flat and then descends to the Cancìa bridge over the Boite (altitude 878 m). Having crossed the stream, leave the little road to the left that leads to the waterfall and instead continue to the right on a steep ascent up to the ‘La Vares’ signpost on the right. This is a tiring but short section (about 100 metres). Following this direction, one enters the undergrowth; the track is always wide and clearly visible with numerous viewpoints where one can stop.
After overcoming two short straps, we leave the wood on a slight descent and cross the asphalted municipal road which, to the left, leads to a crossroads. Just under 5 km have been covered so far. Turning right, the road now allows a comfortable entrance into the village.

Those wishing to visit the hamlet of Villanova Alta, on the other hand, must turn left and face a demanding but short climb of about 1 km, which ends at the junction with Via Pèzes. Follow the latter downhill, for a few hundred metres on asphalt, to reach an isolated house and then continue downhill on unsurfaced terrain towards the Boite (it is advisable to get off the bike on the most impervious stretches to avoid unnecessary risks).

When you reach the bottom of the valley, after a bend to the left, here is the carriageway and immediately afterwards, in the direction of Borca, an iron bridge over the torrent allows you to cross the watercourse and comfortably climb into the village.
