Hikes in Cadore

Trails to immerse yourself in nature and discover some of the most enchanting corners of the Cadore region, including alpine lakes, rivers, unspoilt nature and forests. You will discover some surprising views along paths that wind between gentle ascents and gentle descents. The Cadore trails will give you incredible views of our beautiful Dolomites. 
 
Before setting off on your excursions, it is a good idea to follow a few simple tips to experience the mountains safely.

At Rifugio Scotter

The hut is located in a beautiful panoramic position below the scree and mugo trees of Cima Bel Prà. It is the result of the adaptation of a building.

At Rifugio San Marco

The mountain hut stands on Col de Chi de Os, the southern offshoot of Cima Bel Prà, and was inaugurated back in 1895 and renovated in 1908.

At Rifugio Galassi

The Rifugio Pietro Galassi is a massive stone construction on the eastern slope of the Forcella Piccola. It was built around 1905.

At Rifugio Antelao

It is located on the Pradònego meadow saddle. It was built in 1946-47 on the initiative of Alma Bevilacqua or better known as Giovanna Zangrandi.

At Rifugio Baion

It is located on a large meadow area on the south-eastern slopes of Monte Ciastelin. Built as a cheese factory in 1892, it was renovated in the 1990s.

At Capanna degli Alpini

It is located at the bottom of the green Pian de la Gravina where the road up the Val D'Oten ends. It was built in 1957 on the initiative of Giovanni Vascellari.

At Rifugio Chigiatto

It is harmoniously laid out on the meadows of the Pala del Bèco, just below the summit of Col Negro. Built on the initiative of the Venice Section of the CAI in 1986.

At Rifugio Cercenà

It ist located at the foot of Montanèl in the centre of a clearing. It was converted from the Domegge Municipality's cheese factory in 1896.

At Rifugio Eremo dei Romiti

The hut is located almost at the top of Monte Froppa, a spur in the wooded Montanel. It was created by recovering the ruins of the hermitage erected in 1720.

At Rifugio Padova

It rises in a clearing at the foot of the Monfacloni mountain range. It was built in 1910 on the initiative of the CAI Section of Padua.

At Rifugio Tita Barba

It stands in a small, flat clearing surrounded by woods on the Costa Vedorcia. A fantastic hut from where you can enjoy an excellent view.

At Rifugio Città di Fiume

Open, sunny location on the gentle grassy slopes of the Col de la Puina and excellent location. Formerly used for grazing. Built in the 17th century.

At Rifugio Dolomites

It is located in the shelter of a hillock that forms the summit of Monte Rite. It was created from the renovation of the barracks of the Monte Rite fort.

At Rifugio G.P. Talamini

The hut is located in a private saddle a few steps from the Forcella del Col Botei. It was converted from a wooden hunter's shelter built in 1947.

At Malga Ciauta

Located in a strategic point for some excursions and also panoramic, Malga Ciauta stands on a green plateau that will give you splendid views of the peaks.

At Rifugio Larin and Ristorante "Rifugio" Senes

Two splendid refuges stand on the Alpe di Senes plateau. Both offer typical Cadore cuisine, strictly homemade.

At Rifugio Venezia

It stands on the south-eastern slopes of Mount Pelmo. It was the first refuge built on Italian soil in the Dolomites, in 1982 by the Venice section of the CAI (Italian Alpine Club).

Mondeval - archeological site

Mondeval is an Alpine valley in the Croda da Lago - Cernera group. The importance of Mondeval is linked to the discovery of an archaeological site.

Pieve - Lagole - Pieve

A loop hike that is also suitable for children, which takes you to the famous Lagole thermal spring in Calalzo di Cadore.

Tai - Monte Zucco - Tai

It stands on the south-eastern slopes of Mount Pelmo. It was the first refuge built on Italian soil in the Dolomites, in 1982 by the Venice section of the CAI (Italian Alpine Club).

Diga - Caralte - Cavallera - Sottocastello - diga

Mondeval is an Alpine valley in the Croda da Lago - Cernera group. The importance of Mondeval is linked to the discovery of an archaeological site.
